January 19 2019 - Thanks to Melinda Cassidy and her team at F45 Orchard, the team of coaches very generously donated their time, coaching experience and resources to create an amazing ‘Out in the Park’ experience for our youth and volunteers!
January 31 2019 - We love our friends at Twitter. Thanks to Jeremy Ho and Philip Chua and their incredibly generous and compassionate team, we celebrated together with an amazing spread of food, enjoyed some games, learned from a presentation on cyber-bullying and were able to connect with our new friends.
February 23 2019 - Thanks to Melinda Cassidy, owner of F45 Orchard + Novena, very generously co-ordinated a year long partnership with us where our youth could experience movement, get their heart rate going and learn ways to get fit, healthy and strong . Thank you F45 Orchard!
February 2 2019 - We are most thankful for our wonderful friend and partner, Dani Van De Velde, of The Meditation Teacher. She has committed her time, knowledge and wisdom with our community - sharing mindfulness and reflection with both our children and our volunteers every month!
February 12 2019 - Difference Engine partnered with us for a few sessions to work alongside our older youth and encouraged them to use comic-writing as an outlet to share personal narratives, hopes, dreams and fantasy-lands.
February 21 2019 - Salesforce Employees (Thank you, Siang Choo!) came to visit our space and share their love of upcycling, showcasing what creativity and resourcefulness can lead to. Our youth created their own decorative pillows to take home using scrap fabric, t-shirts and any other materials we had on hand!
February 23 2019 - F45 Orchard. Our community spent the afternoon together with the amazing F45 Orchard coaches in their studio and got to go through some circuits, enjoy healthy snacks and have fun with everyone in the room!
March 9 2019 - Kidsmoov. We were able to spend a fun day outside in a local park, getting our bodies moving, experiencing what it means to be a team, how to collaborate and what it takes to be a good sport.
March 16 2019 - The Meditation Teacher, Dani Van De Velde, joined us for an afternoon exploring what it means to be kind. Conversation prompts and questions allowed all our youth to share how they perceive kindness, how you can be kind to yourself!
March 29 2019 - Salesforce Singapore and Regional Teams spent the afternoon tidying up our space, creating new wall art, organising donations-in-kind and creating a safe and inspiring space for all who walk through our doors.
April 6 2019 - The Meditation Teacher, Dani Van De Velde, brought her amazing energy in the afternoon - opening up conversations around the subject of respect. What does it mean? How does it manifest? How can we show others (and ourselves!) respect?
April 24 2019 - Wany Misban, Nike Trainer and coach. We were thrilled when our wonderful friend, Wany, curated a fun afternoon at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. We learned what it means to trust each other, how teamwork helps you towards your goals (in this instance, it was through a very fun Easter Egg Hunt) and just soaking up the surrounding nature.
May 2 2019 - Ming Wei Neo and music-loving friends joined our community to share their passion and love for creativity, music and the classical genre. The group brought their own musical instruments, encouraged our youth to touch, see, play and explore through asking questions - and yes! They even entertained song requests! Conversations around social etiquette of what is appropriate and what is inappropriate when attending a classical concert took place.
May 3 2019 - Singapore Symphony Orchestra. Thanks to the generosity of the SSO team all of our children and select volunteers were able to experience a concert at the Esplanade! They were treated to front row seats, publicly announced to the audience and were able to go backstage to meet performers.
May 10 2019 - Grey and Sanders. Hosting a small group to learn about how furniture is made, how wood is sourced and holding an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session where our curious learners could ask away!
May 11 - F45 Orchard. Our youth and volunteers had a wonderful time trying out new movements, explored different weights and moved around the room together with their friends. After a sweat-tastic time, we all headed across to the Istana Park.
May 23 2019 - Salesforce Singapore. We were joined by Siang Choo and her friends for another wonderful upcycling session. This time, we upcycled glass jars using everything we had in our craft resource area.
June 1 2019 - The Meditation Teacher, Dani Van De Velde, encouraging our community to explore Teamwork through a series of prompts, questions and fun, interactive activities!
June 15 2019 - We were joined by Wany, a Nike Ambassador and trainer as well as a regular face of Singapore’s fitness coaching scene! Coach Wany created a fun and engaging Sports Day Relay afternoon spent at the Singapore Sports Hub!
June 22 2019 - ‘Temasek Polytechnic Dikir Barat Alumni’ group experience thanks to our volunteer Khoi for co-ordinating this wonderful session where we could learn about a culture and the music that goes along with it!
July 13 2019 - Kyla Guru, Bits n Bytes. We were joined by an International Guest - traveling all the way from the United States. Kyla has been named one of Facebook’s Global Community Leaders in 2018 and joined our community sharing her experience and knowledge with regards to Cyber security and what it means to be safe online. It was wonderful to have someone relatively close in age to our youth come and share!
July 20th 2019 - Wany Misban, Nike Coach and Ambassador, created a magical day outdoors at Singapore’s Marina Barrage. We followed up by cooling down with some ici-lollies!
August 3 2019 - Let’s Carnival. Big thank you to Aruno Yoshino and Adam Gollifer for making this day possible. Everyone (children and volunteers) loved being part of this and being able to cheer Aruno and Adam on as they took to the stage!
September 5 2019 - Singapore Bicentennial. Thanks to one of our volunteers, Kristin, we were able to organise a Jalan Jalan experience.
September 21 2019 - Thanks to F45 Orchard, our children and volunteers spent another wonderful afternoon engaging in movement and getting our heart rates going! We’re so grateful to partners like F45 Orchard and Melinda, who have asked how best they can support a program like ours and this was what many of the youth we journey with need - opportunities to release any emotions, get things off their chest and to release those feel-good endorphins!
October 4 2019 - Playeum Singapore. Thank you to our friends at Playeum for extending an invitation for our young children to be part of an exciting Children’s Day! We would also like to thank our volunteer community who make Jalan Jalan days like this a possibility during the week!
October 25 2019 - Young Founders School, Credit Suisse and Amazon Web Services. Some select youth from our program were invited and welcomed to join the Young Founder’s School’s ‘Open Ideation Workshop’ where over 30 students from different schools come together, working in groups to ideate and innovate - aiming to solve issues that matter to them.
November 2 2019 - The Meditation Teacher, Dani Van de Velde. We were in preparation for a large community wide celebration day and we were joined by Dani who shared on the subject of community! As always, we are so thankful and fortunate to have someone like Dani come in to share her wisdom and gentleness through mindfulness activities, breath-work and open-ended prompts to get our hearts, minds and souls whirring away!
November 16 2019 - Elsie’s Kitchen and W.E.L.L Learning Center. Thanks to our community of volunteers, our children and youth we were able to have a wonderful community-wide celebration for our youth and their families and friends.
November 23 2019 - East Coast Park with Jane Rennie. We were thrilled when we were able to make this partnership happen. Jane was working with a group of young expat children in the community and wanted to introduce STEM concepts together with our youth! What a wonderful day it was and we’re so glad it did not rain!
December 2019 - Amazon. We are thankful for the partnership of Amazon and we’re thrilled that were able to be the first to launch WishList feature for non-profits and community organisations. The Amazon team joined in for Sort + Prep activities as well as delivering items to communities we journey alongside in Singapore. Truly a wonderful time of the year!
December 2019 - The Toyfolks Singapore. For the second year running, we partnered with our friends at The ToyFolks to enable a way for everyone in the community to drop off brand new and like-new items for a month-long donation drive. We’re thankful for the overwhelming support!
